Treats Unleashed Spotlight Groups return this September with Central Missouri Humane Society and the Spay Neuter Project – No Kill Columbia. Both groups help save the lives of pets in mid-Missouri and are the beneficiaries of our Treats Unleashed Pet Expo this month. You can support these groups through donation boxes at our registers or by purchasing Spotlight Treats from our Treat Table!
Central Missouri Humane Society was formed in 1943 to provide shelter and care for the abandoned animals of the greater Columbia, Missouri area. They care for thousands of animals annually and provide veterinary assistance to low-income families in the region. CMHS is also Boone County’s only open door shelter, providing care for all animals, regardless of health or temperment. CMHS is solely dependent on public donations and assistance, and Treats Unleashed is proud to partner with them to help with their mission of treating all animals with the most humane care. Consider a shelter pet for a forever home or for foster care from CMHS.
The Spay Neuter Project – No Kill Columbia “provides high quality, affordable spay neuter services for all companion animals in Mid Missouri. There are no income restrictions or qualifications. All owned dogs, cats and community feral cats are welcome!” Spay Neuter Project believes that with education and assistance, we can overcome the overpopulation of shelters and help prevent unnecessary death and disease. With proper medical care, we can reduce these numbers and find good homes for all shelter pets. Visit their site for more information!
