April Spotlight Groups – Showering Rescues with Love and Support

This April we are showering the Spotlight on Open Door Animal Sanctuary and PALS (Pets ALone Sanctuary)! As always, you can benefit the monthly Spotlight Groups by purchasing our Spotlight Pawprint Treats or cash donations at our registers. Here’s a little more on our featured April rescues:

Open Door Animal Sanctuary was established in 1975, and is based in House Springs. They are the largest no-kill shelter in the state of Missouri, care for over 400 animals on a daily basis and rely 100% on donations to maintain their rescue. Open Door’s mission is “to provide homeless cats and dogs with the highest quality of life and a second chance to find a forever family. We serve the community by taking in stray, abused, neglected and otherwise unwanted cats and dogs and placing them up for adoption.” They provide shelter, food, medical care and love to every pet that enters their door. To learn about volunteering or to view their adoptable pets, visit their website at www.odas.org

PALS shelter is located right on the border of Hawk Point and Troy, Missouri. Though they are a small shelter, they have a great impact in their rural community in Lincoln County. PALS mission includes “Public Assistance and education by promoting proper animal welfare, Spaying and neutering for pet population control, Finding good homes for impounded, stray, abandoned, neglected, or owner turned in pets, Assisting stray or lost pets in finding their rightful owners, Providing care and shelter for pets until they are adopted, Assisting other animal rescue organizations in need.” Being such a small shelter, PALS is always in need of volunteers.
