The 5th Annual Columbia Pet Expo Unleashed, sponsored by Treats Unleashed, takes place on Saturday, Aug. 26, in Stephens Lake Park. Proceeds from event will go to No Kill Columbia’s Spay & Neuter Project.

The clinic — The Spay Neuter Project — is part of No Kill Columbia, a not-for-profit, grass-roots organization founded in 2011 with the goal of reducing the number of unwanted and homeless dogs and cats. The 3,000-square-foot clinic is located at 206 Austin Avenue, just west of Hickman High School and one block north of Business Loop 70.

The clinic is a low-cost, high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter clinic. The clinic provides wellness checks before surgeries and low-cost vaccinations and microchip services.

The No. 1 reason for pet overpopulation in the U.S. is that not enough people spay or neuter their animals. People want to do what is best for their pets, but, in many cases, it is a question of affordability. The Spay Neuter Project helps meet that need!

More about No Kill Columbia
They are animal loving citizens, adopters, foster parents, past employees, volunteers and supporters for local animal organizations, who have witnessed too many innocent and adoptable animals taken needlessly, have united together and are determined to raise awareness and educate animal lovers about the “No Kill” Model of sheltering, and its relevance on “quality of life” in a community. Thanks to their efforts in the “No Kill” movement, No Kill Columbia is within reach.
