FiveAcresCenterpiece1FiveAcresCenterpiece3Treats Unleashed team members recently unleashed their creativity for a good cause!

Treats Unleashed Mid Rivers donated the centerpieces for this year’s Five Acres Animal Shelter Uncorked event, held May 19 at Wine Country Gardens. They were a hugely popular, raising $900 for the event. Dee, Teresa, her mom and others had fun filling the baskets with great toys and yummy, made-from-scratch TU treats. Five Acres representatives said that attendees were “hiding” their centerpieces to make sure they had one to purchase at the end of the event.

With dog parks cropping up everywhere, it can be tempting to pop into one and let your dog run around and make new friends. However, keep in mind that many dog parks may require a membership and keycard to get inside, so it may require some planning. Some even require a “welcome session” where the rules are spelled out and dog parents sign paperwork.

Even if your local pup run is “all access,” there are a few rules to follow to make sure that everyone stays safe and has fun.

this is a lifesaver!

pet-microchip-3National Pet ID Week ends tomorrow. Are your pets microchipped? A TU customer recently found a lovely puppy who was lost during a storm. She and many others, including the wonderful Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue, spent a week trying to find her family. It was a sad week for us as we tried to help this puppy, who was NOT chipped and DID NOT even have a tag, find her family. It was heart wrenching for everyone involved. If she had been chipped, she could have been reunited with them sooner. The microchip is not much bigger than a grain of rice, but it a powerful lifesaver if you and your pet become separated. Please have your pets microchipped!

spotlight organization update – clowder house donation

April 5, 2013
Teresa went to Clowder House on April 4 to deliver $920 worth of items on their wish list. Clowder House was TU’s Spotlight Organization for February. They were so very appreciative – and the cats were, too. As soon as we started bringing things in the door, curiosity got the best of them. Boy, did they check everything out! We had a short tour – and were introduced by name to many great cats. No small feat, considering that there are 275 cats in residence! Look closely and you will see adorable kitties everywhere.

april spotlight organization – national canine cancer foundation

in columbia, events & promotions, in the community, Kansas City, news, st. louis / by Nancy
April 2, 2013

we are the cure1Canine cancer affects one out of every three dogs. Of those, over half of them will die of cancer. That’s why Treats Unleashed’s Spotlight organization for April is the National Canine Cancer Foundation. While TU typically doesn’t spotlight a national group, we’ve all seen the effects of cancer on pets we and our friends and family have loved. The proceeds from our Spotlight Treats will help to fund important research grants that are working towards improving the odds.
